NEOGEN X JOAN KIM Collab: Vita Duo Cream Joan Day Joan Night

Image
When I first started getting into skincare, Joan Kim was one of my go-to skinfluencer for recommendations and product reviews.  In 2018, Joan teamed up with Neogen to create a day and night cream that I was very impatient to get my hand on it. However, It took me some time before I could buy it but let me tell you that the wait was worth it! Neo gen Vita Duo Joan Day Joan Night cream comes in a cute mint green jar with two separate 50g containers for both the night and day cream. My favorite part was the spatula as you don’t need to use your fingers to scoop the cream. (Hygiene Freak Alert!) Joan Day Vita Cream is a morning moisturizing cream that claims it has great soothing and brightening effects on the skin as it contains green tea and vitamin C . It is also described as the perfect prep for makeup. As the last part of my morning routine, I would apply a coin-sized amount into my face and massage it slightly for better absorption. This tea-green moisturizer has a cream-che

Co-creation is the new influencer marketing

Image
Influencer marketing, also known as word of mouth 2.0, is evolving at a fast pace and we really need to catch up!   As we can’t really deny that our favorite content creators influence our purchasing decisions and our opinion on brands. These brands also know that therefore they have been rushing to partner up with influencers to improve and bring better results. The classic partnerships were usually based on short-term transactional relationships that consisted of gifts or hard cash in return for social media content and brand exposure. Recently, marketers are looking into new and innovative ways to elevate and maximize the benefits of the partnerships with the influencers for both the brands and the influencers. Co-creation and collaboration is the way to go! Content creators have exceptional knowledge and real insights on the market and the current trends to the point that they can even replace traditional agencies. Brands can take a great advantage by involving them in creating

Vitamin C : The OG game-changer in skincare

Image
If you are new to skincare, you have probably come across a few products that use Vitamin C as their main ingredient.  Vitamin C was discovered in 1930 and since then became one of the most well-researched and loved skincare ingredients. It is a superstar component that works as an antioxidant, anti-aging, and brightening nutrient.  Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that if formulated properly will work as an excellent antioxidant as it protects the skin from free radicals that cause DNA damage to our skin layers. It works as a great protective factor into UV rays if used under a sunscreen since it is found that it boosts the UV protection. It also improves the production of collagen in the skin, speeds up the wound healing process, and helps fade pigmentation and dark spots.    Normal skin contains a high concentration level of Vitamin C but it gets lower in aged or photodamaged skin. It has been reported that excessive exposure to oxidant stress via  pollutant

The "Duo" that saved my dry skin this last winter !

Image
Throughout my teens, the only step I could spare my skin was cleansing twice a day. I always thought that having dry skin was a great convenience as it allowed me to enjoy a pimples-free skin as a teenager.  But as soon as I entered my mid-twenties, my skin started getting rough, tight, flaky and itchy. And it gets worst every winter which means it was time for me to step up my skincare game.  During this year's quest for hydrating skincare products, I came across the Goodal Green Tangerine Honey Moist Serum (50ml) + Ampoule Pack (30ml).  The Goodal Green Tangerine Honey Moist Serum is a highly nourishing and hydrating serum enriched with Jeju green tangerine and Canola honey to give the skin long-lasting hydration. This serum protects the skin from free radicals as it is rich with antioxidants (Argan oil and  Curcuma Longa Root Extract) and bioflavonoids derived from Green Tangerine.  After the toner, I would apply 2 pumps of the serum to my face and neck before

The 7 Skin Method with Innisfree Ginger Honey Ampoule Skin

Image
In 2017, the "7 Skin Method" went viral as the Korean beauty started getting more recognition in the west. The "7 Skin Method" is to apply your toner or watery essence to your face multiple times (up to seven times) to have hydrated and dewy skin. It is called 7 Skin Method since in Korea toners are usually called "skins".  I have been personally following the 7 skin method for a few years now and I highly recommend it for anyone struggling with dry skin as it will give your skin the hydration boost it needs especially during wintertime.  For this year's winter season, I used the Innisfree Ginger Honey Ampoule Skin for my 7 Skin Method as it claims that it can be applied once as a toner that quickly penetrates the skin and twice or more as an ampoule with a deep no urishing effect which is just perfect for the harsh weather in winter.  The Innisfree Ginger Honey Ampoule Skin is formulated with Gi-ney™ Complex, an Innisfree patent formula that

Introducing you to my first skincare " Epic Fail" of 2020 : Etude House Wonder Pore Freshener

Image
The first products that introduced me to the world of Korean skincare were the Etude House Moistful Collagen Cream and Toner that's why until today this brand holds a dear place in my heart. I often buy Etude house products to discover hidden gems in their huge lineup and interesting products in the various sea of products they are promoting. For a long time, I was eyeing their Wonder Pore Freshener toner as I heard a lot of positive and good reviews about it and noticed how cute the packaging of this toner was so during a business trip to Dubai last year I had to get my hands on it and I did. The Etude House Wonder Freshener claims that it is a 7-in1 solution that helps deep cleanse the skin, control the sebum production, bring the skin pH level to 4.5, tighten the dilated pores, clear and moisturize the skin and give it elasticity. So, in short, it is THE miracle product for all the skin concerns anyone can have. The Etude House Wonder Pore Freshener is a watery and very l

I tried "Skincare Diet" using Innisfree Rebalancing Blueberry Line

Image
Few months ago, I experienced a major hormonal breakout that lead me to change my whole skin care routine and decided to start a skincare diet. As the opposite of the K-beauty 10-Step Routine, the skincare diet overthrow the complicated skincare routines and focus on the basics of a skincare routine, eliminating all the non-essential products from the routine. For my own skincare diet, I ditched all the oil cleansers, serums, ampoules and oils for a  water based cleanser, a toner and a lotion. I chose the Innisfree Blueberry Rebalancing line because of my love of blueberries and because bluberries are extremely rich in antioxidants that prevent free radicals from damaging and destroying skin cells. Another reason for my choice was the minimalistic and clean ingredients list of the different products in this Blueberry rebalancing line. I will review and talk in more details about each product I used during my skin care diet period : Blueberry rebalancing 5.5 Cleanser
